What’s New …

Programs in February and March

Saturday, February 16: Faith and Justice Film Series.

Dessert will be served at 6 PM and then two short documentaries will be shown at 6:30 PM. A discussion will follow the films. Three Acres in Detroit is a striking portrait that looks at two unlikely characters as they turn one of Detroit’s many abandoned properties into a three-level greenhouse. A Right to Eat is an intimate look at the frightening realities of food insecurity as faced by two of Canada’s most isolated northern First Nation Communities. Snow date is March 2nd. Children 12 and over will participate in viewing the movie and discussion. If you plan to bring a child under the age of 12 who will need childcare, call 860-232-3631 and leave your name, phone number and the ages of the children you’ll be bringing. This series is co-sponsored by Kehilat Chaverim and Hartford Food Systems. See information on the next film in the series below.

Sunday, February 17: Meeting for Business at 11:30 AM.

Sunday, February 24: “Exploring Quakerism” at 9:00 AM in the Williams Room. 11th hour discussion: Reflection on the State of the Society.

Sunday, March 3: 11th hour discussion: Reflection on the State of the Society.

Saturday, March 16th: Our Faith and Justice Film Series continues with the film Promises, an intelligent and personal film that offers a perspective on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict through the eyes of its biggest victims—the children of both sides. Dessert is served at 6pm and the film begins at 6:30. A discussion follows the film.
